The Elusive Phatom Gourmet Show

November 23, 2008

I went to work as usual yesterday. It was Saturday. Since the T&G article on my store was in the paper this past Thursday, business has been brisk. I expected a busy day and was not disappointed.

What I did not expect was a phone call from Nicole from Spencer, telling me that I was on Phantom Gourmet right then. I was heartbroken. The Phantom people were supposed to tell me when it would be on so I would not miss it. I knew that they also had a program on later that day so I just had to wait. I waited and waited and waited. Finally, 4:30 arrived, Casey and I sat down in front of the TV to watch Phantom. It was a different show. Could I be more disappointed? Not.

Fortunately, my sister, Charlotte, had her TV taping the Phantom and she got the whole segment. She told me about it and it only frustrated me more, not being able to see it. It is now Sunday morning and Phantom is on again today at 10:30. We will watch it. If our segment is not on, I am getting in the car, driving to Westboro to my sister's house, watching her recording and with the help of her husband and grandson, we will try to make a CD of it.

BTW - right after the Phantom show was over yesterday, a nice guy came into my store and asked if I had Hi Hat cupcakes in the store. I explained to him they were a specialty item, I did not have them all the time but had I known the Phantom segment was going to be on that day, I would have made them.

Now, this is Thanksgiving week so I will be busy, busy, busy baking pies and others goodies for my wonderful customers. Then, we move on to the Town of Spencer's Christmas Stroll, December 6 (a fun event if you want to have a nice time and a chance at winning some super prizes) and then the big holiday season.
