My Post Halloween Plans
November 2, 2008
Well, Halloween is over and all the pumpkin, ghost, monster cookies are all gone. We now have fall leaf cookies from now until Thanksgiving or whenever they run out.
I also will start taking pie orders (or any other orders) for Thanksgiving starting this week. All orders MUST be in by Saturday, November 22. Choices include traditional apple pie, pumpking (with or without gingersnap streusel) and pecan.
For non traditional Thanksgiving items, consider 4" tarlets of pecan or pumpkin or Bavarian apple. These can also be made into two bite mini tartlets.
For those who want something even more different - consider an assorted cookie platter, a brownie platter or a mixture of both.
Any other 'special' requests need to be discussed with me as early as possible. As was the case last year, I can only take a certain amount of orders so place any orders early so you won't be turned away.
I ran out of dog biscuits this week so there were none in the store. Sorry to those of you who can in especially for those. There will be fresh ones in the store starting this Thursday, November 6.
Also, in the store this week, in addition to the usual things I have, I will try to have peanut butter whoopie pies and perhaps some peanut caramel slices. The peanut caramel slices were one of the items that really caught the attention of the people at Phantom Gourmet (along with the Hi Hat Cupcakes, which really blew them away).
Also, if you have any special requests, just drop me an email, call or stop in the store and we can discuss what you might need. I had a request yesterday for anise cookies so I will try and make some of those for this week, too.
PLEASE NOTE: if you are going to want cookie gift boxes or platters for the December holiday season, it would be good to discuss and order those now. Don't take the chance that I will have what you want in the store on any given day. Most of the stuff that I make during December is special order and never makes it to the store.
