Even Though The Store Is Closed...
...that doesn't mean Ooma will stop baking. It just won't be for sale to the public. Nope. Family and friends only.
Who Ooma Really Is
For over 25 years, I have had a passion for baking. I can't think of anything else I would rather do. So, it became an obvious choice recently to do it as a profession. I've spent many years tweaking recipes and researching what is new. Trips to New York City to many bakeries there, have provided great insight into what is new and different. We're trying to bring those ideas here.
I've researched chocolate sources and found some that I feel are not only very good, but still economical. We use Belgian Callebaut chocolate and Dark Forestaro chocolate bits (the chocolate comes from Brazil but is then processed here in the United States). We use only sweet, creamery butter of the finest quality. When using any sort of jams or jellies, we use Trappist jams and jellies from St. Joseph's Abbey right here in Spencer.
We add no preservatives to our products so our shelf-life is not long. Most of our cookies can be bought and then carefully wrapped and frozen for up to 3 months. But we hope that you will love them so much, they won't have time to sit around.
Our products may cost a little more but I think once you taste what we have to offer and compare them to what you can buy elsewhere, you will agree that the price difference is worth it. After all, if you're going to put a few extra calories into your body, they might as well not only be dellicious but be of superior quality!
We hope you try our products as we are confident you will agree, they are delicious.

P.S. Why Ooma? Well, my granddaughter couldn't say Grandma at first, so she called me Ooma. What could be better?
What Ooma Loves To Bake
...and she really likes variety!
In our store, we carry some of the same products every day. For example, we our customers love our oatmeal, chocolate chip, peanut butter, and macadamia nut and white chocolate cookies. So, we stock them all the time. Also, you're likely to find oatmeal and chocolate whoopie pies every day - another customer favorite. Our other products vary depending on what Ooma feels like making and, more often, what the season calls for.
Here are Ooma's general categories of products. You can click into these to see more about them.
Cookies
"Buy them, they're great, I can't resist eating as many as I can find. You will too, so buy some today, you won't regret it."
Cookies are made carefully, and for each cookie type, Ooma uses a scoop to measure out similar amounts. Sometimes, depending on humidty, ingredient variations, and her mood, cookie sizes will vary. If they look larger than normal, then they're likely to be thinner. Rest assured, you're getting the same amount of cookie each time! ...and did we say they are great?
Cupcakes
So many flavors and ingredients, so little time to taste them all - at least that's how a popular saying goes...sort of. We like to match up our cupcakes with the season and love to use fresh ingredients as often as possible. So, daily trips to get fresh fruit for tomorrow's baking is the norm. Sometimes, we're luck to have locally grown fruit and will opt for those.
Muffins
The Sienfeld episode about muffins and muffine tops was hysterical. We know that there's some truth to this preference for muffin tops. Ooma's takes that into consideration. We have standard muffins and a shallow dish muffin-like cake that we call "muffin tops". You'll like them.
Other Yummy Stuff
Ooma likes to experiment and sometimes specialty items become available. It's best to stop at the store to find out about these pastries. Or, if you have a special request, Ooma can see if she can fulfill it. Just ask. You can call, email, or stop in.
Pecan Sticky Buns
This is a customer favorite and we try to have them available in our store on Saturdays and Sundays. They are a treat just as they are, but we suggest that when you get them home, you warm them up in a microwave oven. Wow...what a terrific flavor and texture sensation as they almost melt in your mouth. Mmmmm...
Mini Apple Pies
These are tasty, traditional, and when warmed up and served with icecream, to die for. The size is perfect for one or two people to enjoy while topping off a dinner at home.
Special Orders
Ooma loves to discuss new baking ideas with customers. If you want something that's not on our website, stop by or call. Who knows, maybe your special order will become our next specialty! It's already happened with our Supersize Whoopies and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Media Coverage - Telegram & Gazette AND TV38's Phantom Gourmet
Looks like we made it!
November 22: On Thursday week, we saw the "incredible" newspaper article about us and yesterday, we were told that The Phantom Gourmet (TV38) included the segment that was taped in October. Ooma is certainly looking forward to seeing it (we missed the initial broadcast) as so many nice friends and customers told us about it. We'd especially like to thank both the T&G as well as The Phantom for helping introduce us to so many new people. It's always such a treat for us when new faces appear and we get to chat about our common interests - delicious pastries!
You'll have to catch the TV show on your own. We don't know how they do rebroadcasts. But, if you want to check out the newspaper article, you can find it here: Telegram.Com.
